Solvent distillation systems recover solvents from paints

Formeco srl (Italy) is the world-wide leader in the field of systems for the treatment of solvents, water and acids. Over the last 30 years Formeco installed world-wide more than 35,000 machines, i.e. solvent recovery systems, water evaporators and fractional distillation plants.
The distillers for solvent recovery are divided into the DIstatic, DYnamic and Industrial models.
The DIstatic series are cost-effective distillers which allow the recycling and the re-use of degreasing and washing solvents. A distillation process separates the contaminants, like paints, resins, polymers, pigments and oils, from the original solvent. The process is very effective: The contaminated solvent is brought to its boiling point by a peripheral heating jacket filled with diathermic oil, which is heated by an electrical element. The arising vapours are conveyed to a condenser which is cooled either by air or water. The condensed and recovered solvent is then collected in a tank for its reuse. The units are available with a capacity of 7 – 12 – 25 – 60 – 120 – 180 litres. This series can be connected to a vacuum unit in order to bring down the boiling point of high boiling solvents. Vacuum is also needed for flammable solvents which have a close boiling point and flash point.
The DYstatic series work after the same distillation process but has a rotating scraper with adjustable metallic blades which keeps the contaminated solvent in constant movement allowing maximum extraction of the residues. An automatic drying cycle allows the residues to be extracted in solid or powder state. The units are available in 30 – 60 – 120 litres capacity. Vacuum units are also available as an option.
The Industrial units aim at high capacity of 150, 250, 400, 600 and 1000 litres per batch and can also be equipped with a rotating scraper (optional) for the same purpose as in the DYstatic serie. The boiler, built with 8mm AISI 304 stainless steel, guarantees high resistance and long working life. The with purpose over dimensioning of the geometric capacity, in respect to the maximum load level, allows a perfect separation of solvents from contaminants, and reduces possible entrainments to a minimum.
